Warwick Farm trainer Gary Portelli informed Racing New South Wales stewards that Single Bullet had suffered abrasions on both legs after getting cast in his stable this afternoon.

Single Bullet also suffered some swelling to its right side eye but no lameness was detected when the colt was inspected by the stable’s veterinarian.

The Not A Single Doubt colt will have to undergo a further inspection by the Racing NSW Senior Official Veterinarian, Dr Craig Suann, at 9:30am on Thursday morning before being cleared to run in the Group 1 $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m).

Racing New South Wales released the following statement regarding Single Bullet.

“Single Bullet will be inspected by Racing NSW Senior Official Veterinarian, Dr Craig Suann, at 9:30am on Thursday morning to assess the colt’s suitability to take its place in the Longines Golden Slipper on Saturday.”

Single Bullet has drawn barrier three and will be ridden by Tye Angland who was aboard the colt when he earned a start in the Golden Slipper with his win in the Group 3 $175,000 Cafe Culture + Insitu Pago Pago Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill last Saturday.

In early betting for the Golden Slipper, Single Bullet is listed as a $26 chance with Ladbrokes.com.au while his stablemate She Will Reign is the second favourite at $5.50 behind the Queensland filly Houtzen at $4.40.
