Gold Symphony was sent to Sydney for the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) after recording three wins from four race starts since he made his racing debut in July, but trainer Peter Moody informed Racing New South Wales stewards this morning that he was unhappy with the condition of the three-year-old
“Trainer Peter Moody has advised that Gold Symphony is displaying an elevated temperature and accordingly, is a late scratching at 8:35am from the De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose Stakes this Saturday, 12th September 2015 at Rosehill Gardens racecourse,” the Racing New South Wales statement said.
Gold Symphony made his racing debut with a comfortable two lengths win in the Land Engineering Maiden Plate (1200m) and he was beaten by Jalan Jalan in The Flemington Family Handicap (1200m) on July 18.
The Reward For Effort colt made his debut at group level in the Group 3 Vain Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 15 and he hit the line strongly to record an impressive win and he proved that was no fluke when he upset Ready For Victory to win the Group 3 McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 29.
Gold Symphony was available at 2015 Golden Rose Stakes odds of $21 and his scratching has not made any significant change to the betting market for the Group 1 event.
Exosphere has remained steady at a quote of roughly $3 since the Golden Rose Stakes field was released early in the week and he has the chance to deliver John O’Shea his first win in the Group 1 event.
Press Statement is currently on the second line of betting following his second place finish in the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) and he has been backed from $3.70 into $3.20.
The clear market mover in Golden Rose Stakes betting markets has been talented filly Speak Fondly, who has been backed from $5.50 into $4.40 after she took out both the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) and the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m).
There has been a sprinkling of support for Shards ($13 into $11), Sebring Sun ($15 into $14), Holler ($16 into $14) and Rageese ($19 into $17), while Let’s Make It Rain has been on the drift ($21 out to $31).
