Co-trainers Peter and Paul Snowden combined with the Triple Crown Syndicated Redzel to win the Group 1 $700,000 James Boag’s Premium Doomben 10000 (1200m) at Doomben last Saturday thanks to a brilliant front running ride from local jockey Jim Byrne.

Gold Symphony resumed for a first up third to Clearly Innocent in the Listed $150,000 Luskin Star Stakes at Scone’s standalone metropolitan class meeting last Saturday and Triple Crown Director Chris Ward said the four year old will have his final Stradbroke Handicap lead up run in the Group 2 $175,000 Ascot Green Moreton Cup (1300m) at Eagle Farm on June 3.

“He’ll go to the Moreton Cup next on June 3 which will be a good preparation for him,” said Triple Crown’s Chris Ward.

Gold Symphony was a model of consistency during his last campaign that produced two wins, and two placings from six starts and was spelled after winning the Listed $130,000 National Sprint (1400m) at Canberra on March 5.

In early betting at Ladbrokes.com.au for the Stradbroke Handicap Gold Symphony is rated a $34 chance and is one of several horses the Snowdens have nominated for Brisbane Winter Carnival’s glamour Group 1 sprint.

Other Snowden trained horses among the nominations for the Stradbroke Handicap are Artistry ($26), Attention ($26), Calanda ($26), France ($34), Tycoon Tara ($34) and Snippets Land ($51).

Snippets Land will get a chance to boost his chances for a start in the Stradbroke Handicap when he steps out in the Group 3 $125,000 Taxibox BRC Sprint (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday.

High Bowman takes the ride on Snippets Land who has drawn barrier four in the near capacity field and the six year old is rated an $11 chance to win at his first run back since finishing fifth to Happy Clapper in the Group 3 $150,000 Coca-Cola Newcastle Newmarket Handicap (1400m) at Newcastle on March 17.
