Global Glamour had a short break after running second to Flying Jess in the $2m Gold Coast Magic Millions 3yo Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast on January 14 and is a solid $3.10 favourite for the Light Fingers Stakes at Ladbrokes.com.au.

The well supported Honesty Prevails has firmed in from $7 to be the second pick at $5 just ahead of the promising Gary Frazer trained filly Spright at $5.50 while Chris Waller’s smart filly Foxplay is marked at $7.50.

Gai Waterhouse who trains in partnership with Adrian Bott has reported that the Star Witness filly has settled in well back at Tulloch Lodge following her trip to the Gold Coast.

“Global Glamour has come through her Magic Millions campaign in great order and is continuing to impress everyone who rides her,” Waterhouse said.

Waterhouse said that regular trackwork rider Steve O’Halloran was impressed with Global Glamour’s work after she galloped over 1200m last Tuesday morning, running home the final 200m in 11.9 second on the course proper at Randwick.

“She was superb this morning (Tuesday). She relaxed nicely throughout and is in a very good frame of mind,” O’Halloran said.

Global Glamour hit the spotlight during the 2016 Spring Carnival with a win in the Group 1 $500,000 Sydney Airport Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on October 1 followed a week later with a win in the  Group 1 $500,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield.

The Star Witness filly then resumed for an unlucky ninth in the $100,000 Nudgee Quality (1200m) at Eagle Farm on December 31 prior to running in the Magic Millions 3yo Guineas.

Global Glamour won both the Flight Stakes and the Thousand Guineas from the front for Tim Clark and Kerrin McEvoy and new jockey Josh Parr will probably adopt the same tactics from barrier twelve in the fourteen horse Light Fingers Stakes field.

Spright is resuming from a spell after scoring a hat trick of wins last preparation with her victory in the Group 3 $200,000 3yo Plate (1100m) at Flemington On Crown Oaks Day during the 2016 Melbourne Cup Carnival and has also drawn awkwardly at barrier ten with Corey Brown in the saddle.
