Gleneagles has suffered just one racing defeats since he made his racing debut at Leopardstown in June of 2014 and he has been in outstanding form since he started his three-year-old season last month.

The son of Galileo justified his favouritism with a dominant victory in the Group 1 2000 Guineas (1609m) at Newmarket on May 2 and he backed that performance up with a tough victory in the Group 1 Irish 2000 Guineas (1609m) at Curragh on May 23.

Trainer Aiden O’Brien feels that Gleneagles has trained on strongly coming out of the Irish 2000 Guineas and he said that he is very happy with the conditions heading into the 2015 St James’s Palace Stakes this evening.

“Everything has gone well since the Curragh and we should get the good fast ground we want at Ascot,” O’Brien told Eurosport.

Joseph O’Brien rides him every day and he’s very happy with him.

“He’s such a straightforward and honest horse.

“He’s so relaxed and he travels well, quickens well and doesn’t need to do much when he gets to the front.

“He’s a lovely horse.”

Andre Fabre-trained Make Believe is on the second line of St James’s Palace Stakes betting markets at a quote of $4.50 and he is also taking winning form into the race after he took out the Group 1 Prix Le Parisien (1600m) at Longchamp on May 10.

The Makfi colt has recorded three wins from his four race starts, but he will face the toughest test of his career to date in the St James’s Palace Stakes.

The only other horse that is available at single figure 2015 St James’s Palace Stakes Odds is the undefeated Consort, who is currently available at a quote of $6 to record a maiden Group 1 win in just his third start.

Consort made his racing debut with a win at Newmarket in September of last year and he started his 2015 racing season with a victory in the Listed Heron Stakes (1622m) at Sandown on May 28.

Aktabantay ($41), Belardo ($26) and Latharnach ($51) round out the St James’s Palace Stakes field and are all available at lengthy odds.
