Ghisoni has posted a number of commendable results in 2016, and returned from a brief freshen-up for a commanding win in the Group 3 Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on Saturday.

Citing the team’s desire to keep the three-year-old amongst fillies and mares’ company, Godolphin Australia Managing Director Henry Plumptre said in a statement that trainer John O’Shea is pleased with Ghisoni’s condition and believes the 2016 Tattersall’s Tiara is the most suitable target this season.

“She’s in great order, John and the team are very happy with her, we simply decided that this was the most suitable course to follow with a filly who has a great future,” Pumptre said.

“We’ve always had an eye on not only this campaign, but the spring where there are some very nice races for her.”

Trialling well in the lead-up to her competitive debut, Ghisoni immediately stamped herself as one to watch with a blistering performance for a two length win in the TAB Rewards Maiden Plate (1200m) at Warwick Farm on November 28th; progressing to a similarly-impressive win in the Watagan Grange BM73 (1200m) a fortnight later before returning to the paddock.

Strolling home to beat a number of notable runners to the line in a Randwick trial over 1050m on January 29th, the Lonhro filly stormed home to continue her undefeated career start through the Group 2 Surround Stakes (1400m) first-up on February 27th.

Unable to sustain a strong late pace when a still-credible sixth in the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) on March 12th, Ghisoni returned to the paddock for a freshen-up after a luckless run for fifth in the Group 2 Arrowfield Sprint (1200m) at Randwick on Day 2 of The Championships.

Having beaten a number of handy fillies and mares including Cradle Me and Amicus in the Glenlogan Park Stakes, Ghisoni will line up for the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm on Stradbroke Handicap Day, as a final point of call ahead of the Tattersall’s Tiara.

Ghisoni currently sits on the second line of early Tattersall’s Tiara betting markets at a quote of $3.20.
