Foxplay resumed from a spell to score a first up win in the Group 2 $175,000 Fitzy & Wippa’s Fast & Furious Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on September 3 and the Foxwedge filly looks the best performed of Waller’s three.

The Waller trained Awoke finished eleventh to Foxplay in the Furious Stake while Sezane has been winning at the midweeks with a Maiden and a BenchMark 67 Handicap win at recent Canterbury meetings and will be facing a huge class rise in the Tea Rose Stakes.

Foxplay will be facing a similar field as she beat last start in the Furious Stakes with five of the next six placegetters among the nominations for the Tea Rose Stakes.

The Gary Moore trained Barcarella finished second in the Furious Stakes while Gai Waterhouse has said that third placegetter Global Glamour has improved since her first up run.

“She is a very exciting filly. She has come on since her first-up run,” Waterhouse said.

Smart Amelia, Quick Feet and Chipanda who all missed a place in the Furious Stakes have been nominated for the Tea Rose Stakes.

A Mist Opportunity from the Team Hawkes stable is stepping up to Group 2 class after winning a midweek Canterbury maiden while Fabvier is coming off a Goulburn maiden win on September 1.

James Cummings has nominated three fillies for the Tea Rose Stakes, Smart Amelia, Savvan and Skylight Glow.
