Flying Jess has produced a number of smart performances through ten career starts since making her competitive debut in the spring of 2015, and will carry a record of one win and two minors into her next point of call.

Flying Jess is currently considered a $41 chance in Magic Millions 3.yo Guineas betting markets, but Moloney is confident in the filly’s proven ability at stakes level and believes that she is deserving of her chance in the $2 million feature.

“She’s a stakes winner and she’s (qualified to be) in the race so she we’ll be taking our chance,” Moloney told Racing Victoria.

“There are some good horses she’ll come up against but it’s a $2 million race and you’re guaranteed a start so we’re keen to give it a go.

“She’s a lovely style of horse but only cost about $60,000 out of the main sale.

“We’re happy with how she’s coming along.

“She might have a run in Sydney at Canterbury on the 31st. It’s a three-year-old race over 1200m there and so it’s a run on the way up there and it gives her a go on that leg and that gives her two weeks then until the 1400m Magic Millions race.”

Moloney was pleased with the Hinchinbrook filly’s most recent run for fourth in the Listed Twilight Glow Stakes (1400m) at Sandown on November 12th and believes that she has the ability to figure, with luck in transit this time in.

“That was her first run with the blinkers and she was probably a little bit unlucky not to be right in the finish,” he said.

“But she’d been pleasing me all the way. She wasn’t ready her first couple of runs back and then she ran well when Brenton (Avdulla) was on a wide run there at Caulfield and she didn’t run a bad race and then she was disappointed at Flemington where she didn’t quite put in well enough for that race.

“She then ran well in the Twilight Glow (at Sandown) without much luck at the finish.

“Some of the better ones might test her but she deserves a chance if she’s going well.”

Winning Rupert remains an outright $2.40 in Magic Millions 3.y.o Guineas betting markets with Ladbrokes Australia.
