Flippant produced the worst performance of her career to date when she failed to beat home a runner in the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on October 17, but she was found with cardiac arrhythmia after the race and she showed she was back to her best when she won a barrier trial at Warwick Farm on December 4 in impressive fashion.

The Hinchinbrook filly was trapped wide in the early stages of the Wyong Magic Millions Stakes (1200m) at Wyong on December 17, but she was still able to hit the line strongly to record a strong win and she won another barrier trial in good style at Royal Randwick on December 29.

“It was a great win at Wyong,” Snowden told Radio TAB.

“Her only bad run was first-up last preparation and we found her to have a heart arrhythmia.

“That is something that sounds a bit ominous, but the stats will show you how often horses that have it win straight afterwards.

“We elected to tip her out, but I bought her back in and gave her a soft trial and then we gave her a click up in her second trial and she went outstanding.

“She went to Wyong, sat three deep and just powered away at the end.

“It was a very conclusive win, she won with authority and she pulled up excellent.

“In between times I decided to give her another trial and she ran a very fast time and won well.

“She is coming up here in great order.”

Flippant’s Magic Millions Guineas chances took a hit when she was allocated barrier 19 at the 2016 Magic Millions Guineas barrier draw on Tuesday morning, but Snowden confirmed that she will press forward in the early stages of the race and hopefully find a positive position.

“It is a pity about the draw, but we just have to do the best that we can,” Snowden said.

“She is a go forward filly, she will go up on the speed and she relaxes really well.

“To get seven (furlongs) for the first time she will have to do that, but I feel she is capable of racing well and winning if she gets the breaks.”

Flippant is currently available at 2016 Magic Millions Guineas odds of $5 with Ladbrokes and she is on the third line of betting behind Mahuta ($4.20) and Egyptian Symbol ($4.80).
