Nine talent rich races are set to run at Flemington Racecourse; the major card in Melbourne on Saturday.

Classy and open fields have been confirmed for every race at Flemington on Saturday, but we have analysed each horse in detail, in order to help you find a winner.

The action is set to get underway with the running of the Gippsland Region Handicap at 11:40am and will conclude following the Bay And Ranges Region Handicap at 4:38pm.

Race 1 (11:40am) Gippsland Region Handicap (1400m)

A capacity field of two-year-olds will step out for Race 1 at Flemington on Saturday. Egyptian Bullet (barrier 14) has won each of his two starts this time in, but will undoubtedly require some luck in running from the somewhat awkward barrier 14. Royal Symphony (barrier 11) debuted to racing for a smart win at Pakenham in late May and will only improve into this race, while Under Oath (barrier 2), Kardashing (barrier 12) and Royal Disguise (barrier 18) are all live chances of winning this race. Wired (barrier 8) has gone close at all three starts this time and is worth consideration at the class of this race.

Tip: No. 10 Wired – Each Way ($16/$8)

Race 2 (12:15pm) Barwon South West Region Handicap (1100m)

Fourteen three-year-olds are set to contest Race 2 at Flemington on Saturday, including Ken’s Dream (barrier 7). The classy runner has gone somewhat amiss this time in, but he should relish a step back in class into this field and has drawn well to get a good run close to the pace. Ashlor (barrier 10) has been charged with overcoming a race-high 61kgs, but carries winning form into the race and should still prove tough to beat. Overstep (barrier 14) was luckless last time out and will again need luck if he is to figure from the outside barrier, while Wilde Gem (barrier 9) undoubtedly faces the biggest test of his short career so far, but he remains undefeated and is primed for another big performance in this race.

Tip: No. 2 Ken’s Dream – Each Way ($7/$2.65)

Race 3 (12:50pm) Loddon Mallee Region Handicap (1400m)

A smart field of mares will contest Race 3, including Stakes winner Tsarita (barrier 5). The mare has not been nearly as strong as she was last winter when she flew home to win the Group 2 Queensland Guineas (1600m), but she’s got the class to beat this field and is drawn ideally in barrier 5. Wine Tales (barrier 11) resumed for sixth a fortnight ago and should improve into this race, while Jacqui’s Joy (barrier 7) also appears set to peak in form following two fifth placings this time in. Step The Pedal (barrier 1) has won each of his five most-recent starts and while facing another step up in class here, is more than worthy of a shot at the company. Hell Or Highwater (barrier 8) was pretty tame first-up, but will also carry plenty of improvement into this race.

Tip: No. 1 Tsaritsa ($6.50)

Race 4 (1:28pm) Grampians Region Handicap (2000m)

Chris Waller will launch a smart three-pronged attack in the Grampians Region Handicap, including Duke Of Ellington (barrier 15), Encosta Line (barrier 13) and Sayed (barrier 3). Duke Of Ellington has been consistent, but will need to improve noticeably if he is a winning chance in this race. Encosta Line has been inconsistent at best this time, but the conditions of this race probably suit his chances of a return to winning form more than other recent starts. Sayed has been terrific through three starts this time and from an ideal draw with Craig Williams in the saddle, should prove extremely tough to beat. Manapine (barrier 2) should improve tenfold into this race, while Houdini The Great (barrier 14) and Penryn Pearl (barrier 16) are both winning chances for Darren Weir.

Tip: No. 5 Sayed – Each Way ($7.50/$2.90)

Race 5 (2:05pm) North East Region Handicap (2520m)

Several smart racehorses have been confirmed in the final field for Race 5 at Flemington on Saturday, including Granddukeoftuscany (barrier 13). The horse has threatened to produce a big performance all campaign and will relish a good weight relief into this event, fourth-up. Charlevoix (barrier 3) is more than capable under the conditions of the race and should prove tough to beat with Craig Williams in the saddle, while both Megablast (barrier 14) and Mujadale (barrier 15) will be right in the finish of the race if they can overcome tough draws and heavy weights. Shakopee (barrier 1) returned to winning form last start and should receive a good ride from positive jockey Noel Callow.

Tip: No. 12 Granddukeoftuscany – Each Way ($9/$3.20)

Race 6 (2:45pm) 2017 Country Achiever Gerald Egan Handicap (1100m)

Arguably the field of the day will line up for Race 6 at Flemington on Saturday and there is a case to be made for close to every runner in the field. Husson Eagle (barrier 15) has been strong and consistent this time and would not look out of place in the winner’s circle, while Thermal Current (barrier 17) should carry plenty of improvement into this race. South Australian raider Counter Pulse (barrier 11) is seeking a third-consecutive win here, while Gun Case (barrier 13) returned to winning form at double-figure odds last time out and is primed for another big run. Lord Von Costa (barrier 6) savaged the line for second in the Wagga Town Plate (1200m) last time out and could receive the run of the race on Saturday.

Tip: No. 7 Gun Case – Each Way ($14/$3.75)

Race 7 (3:25pm) David Bourne Provincial Plate (1600m)

Thirteen milers will line up in Race 7 at Flemington on Saturday, including Victory Downs (barrier 7). The 60kgs topweight stormed home to win the Swan Hill Cup (1600m) a fortnight ago and should prove tough to beat amongst this class on Saturday. Riyadh (barrier 3) is weighted well and drawn ideally and will also carry winning form into the race. Having resumed for second in the Travis Harrison Cup (1300m) on May 12^th, the Darci Brahma gelding returned to winning form in the Hygain BM70 (1400m) on May 31^st and should only improve once more into this race. Other dangers include Hot Ruby (barrier 9), Zagaya (barrier 10) and Elite Tiger (barrier 13).

Tip: No. 1 Victory Downs ($7.50)

Race 8 (4:05pm) Brian Beattie Handicap (1400m)

An impressive field will take to the 1400m course for the Brian Beattie Handicap and there is a case to be made for close to half the field. Tshahitsi (barrier 13) is seeking a third-consecutive race win on Saturday, but will have to overcome a tough draw and a heavy weight. Lizard Island (barrier 9) was less than convincing in his racing return, but should carry some benefit into this race. Mio Dio (barrier 11) beat a talented field to the line in the Golden Topaz (1200m) at Swan Hill a fortnight ago and will enjoy a step back in class here. Cannyescent (barrier 12) and noted stayer Swacadelic (barrier 1) are both live chances in this race.

Tip: No. 8 Mio Dio – Each Way ($11/$3.40)

Race 9 (4:38pm) Bay and Ranges Regions Handicap (1600m)

Urban Ruler (barrier 17) is seeking a third-consecutive race win on Saturday, but he’ll need plenty of luck in transit with a big weight and from an extremely tough draw. Widgee Turf (barrier 3) has the class to win this race and should be given every chance under the conditions, while Samovare (barrier 5) should only improve. Jaws Of Steel (barrier 6) has shown glimpses of brilliance between lacklustre performances and is more than capable of winning this race, should he bring his best to the track. The Passage (barrier 13) has been strong and consistent this season and is not without a hope.
