First Seal Clear Favourite In Warwick Stakes Betting

First Seal has been backed into 2015 Warwick Stakes odds of $2.80 and is a clear favourite in the betting market for the Group 2 event that will be held at Royal Randwick this weekend.

First Seal has not been seen at the races since she finished a disappointing sixth behind Amanpour in the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on April 11, but she has performed well in two barrier trials at Royal Randwick on July 31 and August 10.

The Fastnet Rock colt opened at a quote of $3 in Warwick Stakes betting markets, but she was quickly backed into $2.80 and punters are confident that she can make a winning return to the races.

Kermadec is another Group 1 winner that is set to return to the races in the Warwick Stakes and he is currently on the second line of betting at $6.50.

The Teofilo entire was sent to the spelling paddock after he recorded a most impressive victory in the Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Royal Randwick on April 6 and he has performed fairly in two barrier trials at Rosehill Gardens on July 21 and Royal Randwick on July 31.

Kermadec is sure to take plenty of improve out of his first-up run in the Warwick Stakes and he is heading towards the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) at Royal Randwick on October 3 before he potentially heads to Melbourne for the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley on October 24.

Chris Waller has a number of horses in the 2015 Warwick Stakes field and Royal Descent is rated his second best chance with punters at her current quote of $7.

Royal Descent has not recorded a race win since she took out the 2013 edition of the Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m), but she has been a consistent performer at the highest level of racing and finished second in the Warwick Stakes last year.

Another galloper that has received a sprinkling of early support is Godolphin-owned It’s Somewhat, who was backed from $8 into $7.50 after the Warwick Stakes betting market was released yesterday afternoon.

Burbero will have a fitness edge over the majority of his rivals in the Warwick Stakes after he took out the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on August 8, but he has drifted from $7.50 out to $8.50.

The only other horse that is available at single figure Warwick Stakes odds is Gai Waterhouse-trained Pornichet, who has drifted from $8 out to $9 in what will be his first race start since he took out the Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m).

There has been a sprinkling of support for Beaten Up ($51 into $41) and Gust Of Wind ($51 into $41), while Foreteller ($61 out to $67), Moriarty ($81 out to $101), Messene ($7 out to $11), Hawkspur ($41 out to $67) and Complacent ($41 out to $51) have all been on the drift.
