First Look At Sydney Style Moody

Sydney punters will get their first taste of the new Moody flavour when the master trainer launches raid number one from his base in the New South Wales capital.

Moody has set up a small satellite stable at Rosehill which he hopes will give him greater access to the region.

To kick things off he has two nominations for this Saturday’s meeting at Warwick Farm.

It’s expected that Moody will use this base mostly to capitalise on smaller races during the off season and these nominations seem to back up that theory.

Moody took control of his new base on January 1 with 10 boxes available to him at Rosehill.

His two entries for this Saturday are Grenada Road in the 2200m Australian Turf Club Handicap and Dayita in the 1600m Ranvet Handicap.

In an early look at what jockeys he may use in Sydney 3kg claiming apprentice Sam Clipperton has been given a big rap with the mount on Grenada Road while Blake Shinn gets a further boost to his comeback with the ride on Dayita.

Both horses look like good prospects as well with Grenada Road boasting four wins from seven career starts.

The four year old Encosta De Lago mare is seeking win number three this preparation in her fourth race.

Dayita meanwhile is coming off a last start victory over a mile at Caulfield on December 26.

The three year old Show A Heart filly has a career record of four starts for two wins.
