Fifty-five three year olds were left in the Group 1 $1m BECK Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on October 11 when second acceptances were received by the Melbourne Racing Club today.

The in-form Rich Enuff and Looks Like The Cat who crossed the line together when first and second in the Group 2 $200,000 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on September 13 are two of the highly rated three year olds in the acceptance list.
The Mike Moroney trained Merion threw himself in Caulfield Guineas contention with a tough win over the short priced favourite Chivalry in the Listed $120,000 Living Legends Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on September 13.
Also in today’s acceptances are Zebulon, Moonovermanhattan and Silent Whisper who finished third, fourth and fifth behind Merion and Chivalry.
Gai Waterhouse has accepted with two year old Group 1 J.J. Atkins winner Almalad as well as with the wayward Liberation and Snitzel colt Wandjina.
The Godolphin stable has left three colts in the running with Ghibellines, Kumaon and Sweynesse all getting a big rap from trainer John O’Shea.
Ghibellines made up plenty of ground when third to Rich Enuff in the Danehill Stakes while Kumaon will be better suited when he steps up to the 1600m of the Caulfield Guineas.
And Sweynesse looks to have plenty of improvement left in him after scoring a comfortable win in the Group 3 $125,000 Coca-Cola Spring Stakes (1600m) at Newcastle on September 17.
Peter And Paul Snowden have accepted with the promising Shooting To Win who ran an eye catching race when third to Hallowed Crown in the Group 1 $1m De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on September 13 as well as with the maiden performer Proactive.
The in-form David Hayes and Tom Dabernig training partnership has eight three year olds left in the Caulfield Guineas, Forgive And Forget, Mihany, Moonlight Hussler, Petrology, Tashbeeh, The Spitfire, Wilderness and Zuzuland.
While none of the Hayes – Dabernig acceptors are high up in the ratings, the stable can’t be under estimated after training four winners at Caulfield last Saturday, Firehouse Rock, Fast ‘N’ Rocking, Star Fashion and Girl Guide.
Leading Melbourne trainer Peter Moody has Wangaratta winner Armada and Moonee Valley winner Caveka still in while Sydney premiership trained Chris Waller is unusually low in feature race numbers with only one left in, Street Cry filly Winx, who is also in the second acceptances for the Group 1 $500,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) on the same day.
Paul Messara’s two Redoute’s Choice colts Panzer Divison and Scissor Kick are still in the mix for the Caulfield Guineas
Panzer Division was tested at weight for age last start when fifth to Sacred Falls in the Group 1 $350,000 George Main Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on September 20 while Scissor Kick was narrowly beaten by Hallowed Crown in the Golden Rose Stakes.
