Co-trainer Tom Dabernig said that Fast ‘N’ Rocking had performed well during the Melbourne Spring Carnival and the team is happy to take on the Perth sprinters and the stables war horse Extra Zero will travel to Perth as well for the longer races.

Dabernig has earmarked the Group 1 $1m Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot on December 5 as Extra Zero’s first Perth assignment and he could go on to the run in the Group 2 $250,000 C.B. Cox Stakes (2100m) at Ascot on December 19.

“Fast ‘N’ Rocking, we will send over for the Winterbottom and Extra Zero he might run in the Kingston Town and then maybe the Cox Stakes,” Dabernig said.

Fast ‘N’ Rocking was a winner two starts back when he beat The Quarterback in the Listed $120,000 italktravel Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on October 14 then came out and ran fourth to Chautauqua in the Group 1 $1m Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on October 23.

Dabernig, who trains in partnership with his uncle David Hayes, is pleased with the form of Fast ‘N’ Rocking and happy with the way he has progressed since the Manikato Stakes.

“He is flying. We worked him here at the farm this morning and he is in great order,” Dabernig said.

“He is in a good place at the moment and his form has been good. I am not exactly sure what Eastern state horses might run in the race and the Perth sprinters are never easy to beat on their home turf but I think he will definitely make a bit of a race of it for sure.”

Group 1 winning Queensland sprinter Buffering has been confirmed a Perth Carnival participant and will return to the west trying to win his second Winterbottom Stakes after collecting the winning trophy in 2013.

Brisbane premiership winning trainer Robert Heathcote elected to travel to Perth with Buffering at the end of the 2013 Melbourne Spring Carnival and the front running speedster made it a hat trick of Group 1 wins with his all the way victory in Perth’s number one sprint race.

Prior to that Buffering had taken out the Group 1 $1m Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley and the Group 1 $1m VRC Sprint Classic (1200m) at Flemington.
