Haybah will be having her fifth race start when she contests the 2015 Blue Diamond Fillies Preview at Sandown on Monday and co-trainer Tom Dabernig believes that her racing experience could give her an edge in the Listed event.

Haybah did plenty wrong when she beat home just a single runner in the Group 3 Emirates Airline Plate (1000m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day, but she produced a more professional performance when second in the CRT Whites Wires Plate (1000m) at Moonee Valley on December 12 before she overraced when fourth in the Cactus Imaging Plate (1000m) at the same venue on December 27.
The More Than Ready filly recorded her maiden race win when she led from start to finish to take out the Evergreen Turf Plate (1000m) at Ballarat on January 8 by three lengths and Dabernig told Racing Ahead that he is hoping the two-year-old can produce a similar performance in the Blue Diamond Fillies Preview.
“I thought it was a good win at Ballarat,” Dabernig said.
“She has drawn barrier one so she will get the fence again, she is a fast filly and Stephen Baster rides those sort of two-year-olds well.
“She has the benefit of plenty of racing and she will know what to do under pressure.
“I think that if she can be placed in this and get a little bit of black type that would be an ideal result.”
The Hayes/Dabernig stable are also represented in the Blue Diamond Preview for colts and geldings by the talented Call Me Anything.
Call Me Anything made his racing debut with a third place finish behind Claudia Jean in the Christmas Season Plate (1000m) at Flemington on December 20 and has impressed Dabernig with his trackwork, but the rising trainer believes that the Redoute’s Choice colt will be at his best when given the chance to step-up in trip.
“I thought that he was quiet good on debut when he was placed at Flemington,” Dabernig said.
“He is a horse that I don’t think is a dead set 1000 metres horse and I think in time you will see him get over a bit of ground.
“He is drawn a little bit wide in a strong race.
“I think that he will be competitive, but I would like to see him in time and I think that he will be at his best a bit beyond 1000 metres.”
Haybah is currently available at 2015 Blue Diamond Fillies Preview odds of $31, while Call Me Anything is priced at $18 to take out the colts and geldings edition.
