Epsom Handicap On The Agenda For Pressday

Pressday

Pressday will target the Epsom Handicap and Cox Plate this spring

Pressday will take to the track this spring in the effort of increasing his stud value this breeding season.

The three-year-old colt already has four Group wins under his belt after claiming victory in the Group 2 Champagne Classic, Sires’ Produce Stakes and Sandown Guineas, as well as the Group 1 T.J Smith last year.

Pressday will race for the first time in the colours of Eliza Park, where he will stand at stud after his four-year-old racing season.

Trainer Chris Waller confirmed that Pressday would continue his career to run in the Cox Plate and the Epsom Handicap.

“Pressday will be in Eliza Park’s colours and race on this season,” Waller said.

“He is being aimed at the Epsom Handicap and the Cox Plate.”

Waller is hopeful that Pressday will perform to his peak this spring after a sketchy start to the year.

Pressday reared in the barrier on two occasions last preparation, finishing at the tail of the field.

His last start was a fifth behind Ilovethiscity in the Royal Randwick Guineas in March.

“He has matured a lot mentally which will help him,” Waller said.

“I’m very pleased with how he has come back.”

Pressday has won five of his 11 race starts and has already accrued almost $830,000 in prize money.
