Trainer Bjorn Baker to hoping Egyptian Symbol can earn more black type after drawing midfield in the Group 2 $200,000 China Horse Club Breeders Classic (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Egyptian Symbol was able to win the Group 3 $150,000 ICD Property Nivison (1200m) at Randwick on October 15 and was back in the winner’s stall two starts later with a win in the $100,000 Wyong Magic Millions 3yo & 4yo (1200m) at Wyong on December 22.
The Stratum mare then went to the Gold Coast for a sixth to Private Secretary in the $1m Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Handicap (1300m) on January 9 and Baker said that she has returned to his Warwick Farm stables in great order and is expecting her to be amongst the prizemoney again.
“It is a nice race for her and she is very fit,” Baker told The Sydney Morning Herald.
“She is a good quality sprinting mare and she is capable of getting a bit more black type.”
Egyptian Symbol has drawn barrier five in the nine horse Breeders Classic field with Jason Collett happy to be back in the saddle after partnering her in the Nivison win.
“She was the horse I was looking forward to getting to the Gold Coast with but then I fell off at Canterbury and had to watch her,” Collett said.
“The win at the end of the carnival was very strong and I think 1200 metres is probably her best trip. It was one of those things that happens and it was disappointing to miss out on her last couple of runs. It is good to get back on her on Saturday and another good chance for me from Bjorn.
“When you are coming back from time off, you want to get back winning and she is a good chance to do that in a nice race.”
Trainer Chris Waller has a strong hand in the Breeders Classic with French Emotion (barrier 6) and Tsaritsa (barrier 3).
Hugh Bowman takes the ride on French Emotion who is having her first run back after running second to I Am A Star in the Group 1 $500,000 Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington on October 29.
The Snitzel mare has been prepared for her return to racing with two barrier trials at Warwick Farm, a third over 805m on January 10 followed by a second over 1000m on January 23.
Tsaritsa is also resuming with James Doyle in the saddle, having her first start since running ninth in the Group 3 $125,000 Bill Ritchie Handicap (1400m) at Randwick on September 17.
The Kris Lees trained Danish Twist has drawn barrier seven with Tommy Berry to ride while the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Flippant has drawn the pole position in the Breeders Classic.
I Am Zelady is coming off a last start second in the Magic Millions Fillies & Mares Handicap and will jump from the outside gate with Tim Clark in the saddle again.
