Dunn drove the Team Hawkes trained Divine Prophet to victory in the Group 1 $1m Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield last Saturday and Inference is a firming $9.50 chance for the Ladbrokes Classic.

Dunn has ridden Inference in four of his five race starts, including three wins before his last start fourth to Hey Doc in the Group 2 $200,000 Strathmore Community Bank Stutt Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on September 30.

“Inference he is a really nice horse on the way up,” Dunn told RSN’s Racing Ahead.

“He probably wasn’t really suited by the Valley the other day, back to a bigger track, nice barrier. It is a very even race but I am hoping he can go a long way this preparation, he ran terrific and hopefully he can step up to the mark.”

Dunn is hoping the bigger Caulfield track will help the chances of Inference who has drawn nicely at barrier six in the fourteen horse field.

The Hawkes Racing Team of John, Michael and Wayne also provided Dunn with another feature race win at Caulfield on Wednesday when Euro Angel scored a one and a half lengths win in the Group 3 $150,000 Nick Johnstone Real Estate Ladies’ Day Vase (1600m).

The Lindsay Park trained Seaburge is backing up after running a close second to Divine Prophet in the Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas and sits at the top of the Ladbrokes Classic market order at $3.30 ith Ladbrokes.com.au.

The James Cummings trained Good Standing also went around in the Caulfield Guineas for a seventh and is well in contention at $3.90 with Damien Oliver’s mount Highlad on the third line of betting at $7.50.

Market order for the Ladbrokes Caulfield Classic at Ladbrokes.com.au: $3.30 Seaburge, $3.90 Good Standing, $7.50 Highlad, $9.50 Inference, $11 Throssell, $15 Rocketeer, $16 Wine Bush, $17 Kent, $19 Odeon, $21 Waterloo Sunset, $31 Beach Life, $61 Wimborne, $91 Positive Carry, $151 Larrikin
