Dublin Lass returned to the races with a second place finish behind Pittsburgh Flyer in the Group 3 Mumm Stakes (1100m) at Flemington on Crown Oaks Day and she returned to winning form in the Listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens on November 28.

The O’Reilly mare produced a slightly flat performance to finish fifth in the Listed Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m) at Royal Randwick on December 12, but punters are still confident she can get the job done and were happy to take the $2.25 on offer for her to win the Breeders Stakes.

Dublin Lass is joined in the 2016 Breeders Classic field by stablemate I’ve Got The Looks and she is currently on the second line of betting at a quote of $.420.

I’ve Got The Looks has not recorded a race win since she took out the Listed Juanmo Stakes (1200m) at Doomben on May 9, but she has returned to the races with credible performances in the Listed Canterbury Classic (1200m) at Royal Randwick on Boxing Day and the Listed Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) at Gosford on January 8.

One of the most interesting horses in the Breeders Classic is Amicus, who is on the third line of betting at a quote of $4.80 to make a winning return to the races.

Amicus took out the Group 3 Toy Show Quality (1300m) at Royal Randwick on August 22 first-up in the spring and trainer Chris Waller believes that there are a number of factors in her favour this weekend.

“She is a Group 1 winner and a Group 2 winner,” Waller said.

“She goes good fresh, she likes Randwick and she likes Hugh Bowman.

“There is a lot to like about her.

“She has the big weight under set weights and penalties and she is not perfectly weighted, but she is a Group 1 winner.”

Miss Cover Girl has not recorded a race win since she took out the Group 3 PJ Bell Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on April 6, but she has remained steady at her opening quote of $8.50, while Slots ($9) is the only other horse available at single figure Breeders Classic odds.

The 2016 Breeders Classic betting market is rounded out by Queen Of Kariba ($12) and Press Report ($34).
