Peter Moody described it as a ‘pie in the sky’ option but an option it is nonetheless.

Black Caviar could stop off in the Emirates on her way to Royal Ascot in a detour that could earn her millions.

Moody nominated the unbeaten mare for two races on the Dubai World Cup program, the Golden Shaheen on the all weather Tapeta surface and the Al Quoz Sprint on turf.

At the moment this was more about leaving all the doors open though more than a tenable possibility.

“It was a free entry, so I whacked her in,” Moody said.

“I haven’t even discussed it with the owners, but I’d like to keep my options open.”

Logistically it’s not a stupid idea though, they have to pass over Dubai anyway and they’ll be doing so at the perfect time.

“We may finish her campaign here some time in early March and Dubai is at the end of March – then the UK in June,” he said.

“There would be no drama there.”

It’s a rather large carrot that attracts them as well given Dubai offers bigger prize money than either Australia or the UK.

By winning the Golden Shaheen she’d pick up a $2 million race, that’s more than the expected $1.1 million return from her three race Australian autumn program.

In fact her main UK target, the Golden Jubilee Stakes, has a first prize almost $200,000 less than even the Al Quoz at $600,000.

It’s something that could weigh on the owners minds, especially if they’re looking to climb up the list of all time Australasian money earners.

Maykbe Diva got $14 million, well ahead of the $4.3 million earned by Black Caviar with the likes of Sunline on $11 million and Northerly on $9 million also well ahead.

In fact there’s more than 12 horses still ahead of her on that list despite her incredible 16 race unbeaten record.

It would be an exciting prospect were she to run in Dubai though with the likes of Sepoy, Helmet and So You Think potentially creating an Aussie domination.
