Team Snowden will also saddle up Charlie Boy in the first Group 1 of the Brisbane Winter Carnival but co-trainer Peter Snowden is leaning towards Dothraki as the better chance of the two.

“They are both going terrific, especially Dothraki, he is flying at the moment,” Peter Snowden said.

“I am really really happy with him. Drawn a great gate in a very competitive race. A solid race, plenty of speed and that good draw is a big plus for him. He will make his own luck from there and will be very hard to beat.”

Dothraki has drawn barrier one with Blake Shinn to ride and the top Sydney jockey is looking for a repeat of last year’s BTC Cup result when he steered Hot Snitzel to victory for the Peter and Paul Snowden stable.

But unlike Hot Snitzel who was one of the outsiders of the field at $26, Dothraki is well in the betting at $8.50 after $13 was bet earlier in the week while stablemate Charlie Boy is marked at $14.

Dothraki has had a slight freshen up since running fifth to Chautauqua in the Group 1 $2.5m Darley T J Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on the first day of ‘The Championships’ on April 2 and Peter Snowden was happy with his Warwick Farm barrier win over 796m on April 29.

Charlie Boy was a winner two starts back in the Group 3 $150,000 Liverpool City Cup (1300m) at Randwick on February 27 before running sixth to Music Magnate in the Group 3 $150,000 Hall Mark Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on April 16.

The Chris Waller trained Japonisme has taken over favouritism at $3.50 from Fell Swoop who has eased to $4.80 following support for the Waller three year old.

Thee Lee and Anthony Freedman trained Malaguerra has remained steady around the $6.50 mark while the Muswellbrook trained Artlee has also had some support and joins Dothraki at $8.50.

BTC Cup market order at Ladbrokes.com.au: $3.50 Japonisme, $4.80 Fell Swoop, $6.50 Malaguerra, $8.50 Artlee, Dothraki, $14 Delectation, Charlie Boy, $18 Target In Sight, $26 Scared Star, Two Blue, $21 Stratum Star, $41 Echo Gal, $126 Liberation.
