Dothraki returned to winning form in impressive fashion on the Gold Coast a fortnight ago and has been included in 2015 Civic Stakes nominations.

Posting five wins and a further ten minors through 21 career starts so far, Dothraki was a strong and consistent performer for Gerald Ryan through a summer preparation highlighted by second place finishes in each of the Listed Starlight Stakes (1100m) and Listed Razor Sharp Handicap (1200m).

Failing to make much of an impact when eighth in the Listed Ortensia Stakes (1100m) in his first start for Peter and Paul Snowden on May 16th, the Mossman gelding charged home to win the Group 3 WJ Healy Stakes (1200m) on June 20th and appears primed for further success in the Civic Stakes on Saturday.

Gerald Ryan is set to launch a two-pronged attack on the 2015 Civic Stakes after including Dances On Stars and Estonian Princess in nominations.

Dances On Stars undoubtedly figures as Ryan’s leading chance for success in the Civic Stakes having built off a credible sixth in the Group 2 QTC Cup (1200m) on May 30th to finish fourth in the WJ Healy Stakes a fortnight ago.

Returning to racing for a close second in the Listed Silk Stocking (1200m) on the Gold Coast on April 25th, Estonian Princess has failed to make anything of an impact through her two most recent starts but will appreciate a step-back in class from her most recent appearance in the Group 1 Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m).

Godolphin also appears likely to field two runners in the 2015 Civic Stakes after trainer John O’Shea included both Haussman and Medcaut in nominations.

While failing to figure late and eleventh in the Listed Luskin Star Stakes (1300m) first-up on May 16th, Haussmann ran on for fifth amongst talented company in a Rosehill Gardens minor over 1400m last time out on June 13th.

A proven performer over both course and distance, Medcaut returned to racing this time for success in TheRaces.com.au Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill on March 28th, but has since been unable to fire through three subsequent starts.

The 2015 Civic Stakes final field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday.
