Quality fields have been drawn to each race, but we have analysed every horse in each, in order to help you find a winner.

Racing at Doomben will get underway with the running of the Furnaces @ Aquis Farm Three-Years-Old Handicap (1615m) and will draw to a close following the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Open Handicap (1200m) at 4:22pm.

Race 1 (11:27am) Furnaces @ Aquis Farm Three-Years-Old Handicap (1615m)

Nine three-year-olds will step out in Race 1 at Doomben on Saturday. Diomedes (barrier 2) failed to fire late time out, but has shown plenty of ability through his short career and is not without a hope once more in this race. Lady Lark (barrier 6) has steadily built to the task and is ready to peak in form, while Future Event (barrier 3) is drawn to get an ideal run in transit and is up to the class of this field. Arrestar (barrier 5) loomed without much luck last time out and is drawn to get a far cleaner run this time, but will have to overcome 58.5kgs.

Tip: No. 1 Diomedes ($4.80)

Race 2 (12:02pm) Tim Bell Memorial BM80 Handicap (2200m)

It is a small but classy field of nine set to contest Race 2 on Saturday, including a smart Chris Waller-trained pair. Loving Home (barrier 4) worked home to finish second over 2200m at Doomben a fortnight ago and should be rock-hard fit leading into this race, while Devil Hawk (barrier 5) has yet to find his best form this time, but is arguably offered his best chance of winning to date in this race. Former Godolphin runner Gouldian (barrier 1) has not been far away recently and is drawn well with a light weight, while the Michael Costa-trained Stanley (barrier 2) could receive the run of the race from an inside draw and is seeking a third-consecutive win.

Tip: No. 3 Devil Hawk – Each Way ($11/$2.45)

Race 3 (12:37pm) Queensland Breeders Class 6 Handicap (1615m)

Only nine horses remain in contention for Race 3 at Doomben on Saturday following early scratchings. Queen Of Wands (barrier 2) has also accepted into the field for the Coffs Harbour Cup on Thursday afternoon, but is undoubtedly the mare to beat in this field, should she take her place. Skillful (barrier 7) returned to winning form at Doomben just over a fortnight ago and is primed for a successful step up in class, while Mr McBat (barrier 3) steps into this race off a nice win at Grafton and is not without a chance. Chloe’s Comet (barrier 6) is drawn and weighted ideally and was a classy winner over similar company last week.

Tip: No. 8 Chloe’s Comet ($4.20)

Race 4 (1:12pm) Stanton Mienert Accountants BM75 (1350m)

Race 4 at Doomben on Saturday has drawn a classy field of ten, with plenty of winning potential. Fabvier (barrier 4) is arguably the class horse of the field and has drawn ideally, with in-form hoop Jim Byrne in the saddle. The Fastnet Rock mare finished second in two city sprints upon resuming this time, before taking out each of the Sky Racing Plate (1400m) and XXXX Summer Handicap (1350m) most recently. Rosie Pose (barrier 7) has found strong form and has the notable advantage of in-form hoop Ruby Ride in the saddle, while Fleur D’Orage (barrier 3) and Shoreline (barrier 8) have both also performed well this time in. Kris Lees has a good record with travelling horses to Brisbane and he will saddle Star Reflection (barrier 5) in this race.

Tip: No. 2 Star Reflection ($2.50)

Race 5 (1:47pm) Jockey Celebration Day Open Handicap (1615m)

Nine horses will step out in Race 5 at Doomben, following scratchings. Tap This (barrier 4) is yet to show her best this time, but will have conditions to suit and is not without a chance of finishing in the first three. Explosive One (barrier 5) is sure to have taken plenty of benefit from her first-up run for third at Grafton and will be tough to hold out, while Pindan Pearl (barrier 7) ran third at Listed level last time out and probably has more class than most of this field. Spur Le Jouer ran sixth in the same race and is primed for a big run, from a good draw.

Tip: No. 6 Spur Le Jouer – Each Way ($9.50/$2.70)

Race 6 (2:22pm) Lucrf Super Supports Jockeys Ratings 0-70 Handicap (1615m)

A capacity field has been taken for Race 6 and there is a case to be made for more than half the runners. Gypsy Miss (barrier 8) went amiss last time out, but is drawn to get a good run in transit, is weighted well and will have conditions to suit on Saturday. Rogali (barrier 1) ran on for a close second at Ipswich last time out and will only improve into this race, while Brocson (barrier 2), Subsolar (barrier 12) and Little Wealth (barrier 3) are all primed for big runs. Endless Puzzle (barrier 6) will be partnered by claiming apprentice Michael McGillivray, is drawn well and carries winning form into the race.

Tip: No. 2 Endless Puzzle – Each Way ($16/$4.90)

Race 7 (3:02pm) UBET Colts, Gledings & Entires BM75 (1350m)

Care To Think (barrier 11) has found terrific form this time in and will be tough to beat at Doomben on Saturday afternoon. The So You Think gelding finished second at Grafton and on the Sunshine Coast, before storming home to win the Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1350m) at Doomben a fortnight ago. Patronizing (barrier 9) was also impressive last time out, but may need to expel some early energy from a wide draw, while Prince Manitou (barrier 10) appears ready to peak. Marksfield (barrier 2) will be ridden by claiming apprentice Ruby Ride and carries strong and consistent form into the race.

Tip: No. 1 Marksfield – Each Way ($12/$3.30)

Race 8 (3:42pm) National Jockeys Trust Class 3 Plate (1200m)

Scratchings have reduced the field of Race 8 to thirteen and it is an open race from a betting perspective. Havasay (barrier 1) returned to the races for a smart win at Grafton and is positioned well to continue that winning run of form through this race. Song One (barrier 8) has run a close second at his two most recent starts and should receive a good run in transit from a central draw, while Manias (barrier 5) is drawn and weighted for success and has been terrific this time in. Muddy Rope (barrier 12) is rock-hard fit, but has been charged with overcoming a tough draw, while Ignite The Light (barrier 3) is a first-up winner and will be partnered by quality jockey Jim Byrne.

Tip: No. 1 Havasay ($4.60)

Race 9 (4:22pm) Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Open Handicap (1200m)

The final race at Doomben on Saturday has drawn fifteen horses, however classy mare Tumbler is undoubtedly the runner to beat. The Time Thief mare has posted seven wins and a minor through only nine career starts and returned to competition for a comfortable win on the Sunshine Coast on July 15th. Stella Ombra (barrier 9) has been in career-best form this time and loomed as potentially the main danger, alongside the likes of Irish Constabulary (barrier 11) and second-up veteran Charlie Boy (barrier 2).

Tip: No. 7 Tumbler ($3.20)
