The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Russian Revolution made light work of his rivals in winning over 1045m while Warwick Farm trainer Gary Portelli was more than pleased with Rebel Dane’s effort in finishing third over 740m.

Sky Racing reported that Russian Revolution looked in great shape cruising to a three and a quarter lengths win and will go into the Group 1 $700,000 James Boag’s Premium Doomben 10000 (1200m) at Doomben first up.

“Russian Revolution looked superb in his barrier trial at Randwick this morning. G1 Doomben 10,000 the target for Snowden Racing,” Sky Racing tweeted.

Russian Revolution joined the list of Team Snowden’s Group 1 winners with a narrow victory over stablemate Redzel in the Group 1 $700,000 Nathan’s Famous Hotdogs Galaxy (1100m) at Rosehill on March 18 and followed that up with a sixth to Chautauqua in the Group 1 $2.5m Darley T J Smith Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on April 1.

Rebel Dane has also been freshened up since finishing ninth in the T J Smith Stakes and Portelli will give the seven year old a chance to win another Group 1 trophy before he starts his stud duties at Victoria’s Swetenham Stud in the Spring.

“Very happy with the trial of Rebel Dane at Rwick over 740m.Ran a solid finishing third and is ready for the Doomben 10000,” Portelli tweeted.

Rebel Dane scored his first Group 1 win in the 2013 $400,000 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield and it took him three years to find the Group 1 winner’s stall again with victory in the $1m Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley during the 2016 Melbourne Spring Carnival.
