The Peter Moody trained Dissident is one of seven Group 1 winners among the thirteen entries for the Group 1 weight for age with the Victoria Racing Club extending nominations until 10am on Tuesday September 9.

Moody is pleased with the progress of the Sebring stallion since winning the Group 1 $400,000 New Zealand Bloodstock Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 30 and is looking forward to see how he performs on the bigger Flemington track.

“Dissident has trained on nicely and is in good shape,” Moody told AAP.

“He has come on well.”

“I thought the bigger track at Flemington would suit him better.”

Among the early entries is last year’s quinella of the Chris Waller trained Foreteller and Puissance De Lune from the premiership stable of Darren Weir.

Puissance De Lune is going into the Makybe Diva Stakes with two runs under his belt, including a second up third to Dissident in the Memsie Stakes at Caulfield last Saturday week.

While Foreteller could be asked to back up this week after finishing third to The Cleaner in the Group 2 $250,000 Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley last Saturday.

Waller has also nominated triple Group 1 winner Boban who has been unplaced at two runs this campaign, his latest behind Dissident in the Memsie Stakes.

Trainer John Hickmott has nominated three for prominent owner Lloyd Williams, 2012 Melbourne Cup winner Green Moon, last year’s Caulfield Cup winner Fawkner and the Irish import Foundry.

The in-form training combinations of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig have entered English import Spillway who was beaten a lip first up by Star Rolling in the Group 2 $200,000 Back To Caulfield P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 16.

Also among the nominations are the Team Hawkes trained Messene, Irish import Voleuse De Coeurs from the Mike Moroney stable, the Jamie Edwards and Bruce Elkington trained seven year old Sertorius and Kiwi galloper Scapolo.
