Lindsay Park co-trainer David Hayes has mapped out a plan for the rest of the Sydney Autumn Carnival for Dibayani that will see the import sidestep glamour mare Winx.

Dibayani finished second to Winx in the 2016 Group 1 $600,000 Precise Air Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Randwick twelve months ago and resumed for the 2017 Autumn Carnival with a fourth to Winx in the Group 2 $250,000 The Star Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on February 13.
Winx made it fifteen wins on the trot when she won her second Chipping Norton Stakes at Randwick last Saturday and is now heading to the Group 1 $1m George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on March 18 then into the Group 1 $4m Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 8, day two of ‘The Championships’.
Dibaynai will bypass a re-match with Winx and run in the Group 2 $200,000 Hyland Ajax Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on March 11 then into the Group 1 $3m The Star Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Randwick on April 1, day one of ‘The Championships’.
“The two races that he’s going for there’ll be no Winx which is a great relief,” Hayes told AAP.
“She’s a little bit too good for him.
“He’s been beaten three times by Winx and ran second to Hauraki in an Epsom.
“It reads as good Doncaster form.”
Dibayani started his racing career in Ireland before heading to Hong Kong but hasn’t won a race for the Lindsay Park Team of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig from fourteen starts since August 2015.
Apart from running second in the 2016 Chipping Norton Stakes, Dibayani’s other Group 1 placing was when second to Haruaki in the $1m Epsom (1600m) at Randwick during the 2016 Sydney Spring Carnival.
In early betting at Ladbrokes.com.au for the Doncaster Mile, Dibayani is marked at the good odds of $26 while the Chris Waller trained Omei Sword sits at the top of the market order at $8.
The John O’Shea trained Hauraki and last Saturday’s Liverpool City Cup winner McCreery share the next line of betting at $11.
