Waller might have the best race horse in the world in Winx in his stable, but the premiership winning trainer is lacking a top class sprinter at the moment and the leading Sydney stable will now team up with the Gerald Ryan trained Deploy who is the winner of seven of his last nine starts.

Chris Waller Racing released the following statement via twitter today.

“Chris Waller Racing and it’s slot owners are excited to announce that the Gerald Ryan trained Deploy has been secured to race on behalf of the Chris Waller Racing slot for the 2017 inaugural running of The Everest.”

“It has been an exciting journey thus far and when looking to select a suitable horse this year, we made reference to a large number of races in the lead up to The Everest and many options themselves along the way.”

“We feel that Deploy is the perfect horse to link up with for the race given his rapid rise through the sprinting ranks in the last twelve months. Being the winner of seven of his last nine starts, including breaking two long standing track records with one being at Randwick over 1200m Everest distance, it sees him well qualified to be very well credentialed for a race of this magnitude.”

“Given that he is also trained out of our primary training base at Rosehill, we have been fortunate to watch his progression closely.”

“In addition, having the opportunity to link with managing owner Torryburn Stud and the Cornish family, who are also clients of ours and good friends, it made the decision an easy one and we look forward to climbing The Everest on October 14.”

Ryan has Deploy racing in outstanding fashion with a record breaking win two starts back in the Group 3 $150,000 Suttons Show County Quality (1200m) at Randwick on August 19 followed by another record breaking effort to win the Group 2 $200,000 Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) at Rosehill on September 9.
