Impressive Rosehill trial winner Deploy won’t be rushed into a high profile Spring Carnival campaign and will make his race debut in an 1100m 3yo Maiden Handicap at Canterbury in a fortnight.

The well-bred Deploy was only having his second barrier trial when he downed the well performed Headwater and two year old Group 1 winner Press Statement over 900m at Rosehill on Tuesday.

Trainer Gerald Ryan has always held a high opinion of the Fastnet Rock colt but is in no hurry to pit him up against the top liners under race conditions and will let him work his way through the grades.

“He will probably run today fortnight in a three year old maiden at Canterbury,” Ryan told Sky Racing’s HQ.

“We will just take small steps early and see where we end up.”

“Two trials early in the year and yesterday have been quite good.”

Josh Parr took over from regular rider Brenton Avdulla, who was on the stablemate Fireworks who finished fourth, and after beginning with the pack, Parr let Deploy stride up outside the leader Headwater with the Chris Waller trainer Press Statement settling in third position.

Headwater with Tommy Berry in the saddle and Deploy on his outside went to the line together with  Ryan’s colt doing the better on the line to score by a head.

Press Statement also ran a nice trial and wasn’t pushed out in the straight to run third.

Deploy had previously trialled back in February when he won over 900m at Rosehill but Ryan had to tip him out when he pulled up shin sore.

“He went out after his first trial because he got shin sore so we turned him out,” Ryan said.

“We left him out until the end of May. He has come back well, he is going good. He has strengthened up and matured.

“He has always been a horse that has shown nice ability all the way along, but being a Fastnet we took our time with him.”

“Brenton (Avdulla) has always had a good wrap on him.”

“He had a jump out last Tuesday morning and went good.”

Ryan said that with a little bit of race experience Deploy could develop into a nice horse.

“He just wants to overdo things a bit, we just have to kerb that a little bit. I think he is a nice horse,” Ryan said.

“Up to 1200m, he is a sprinter. He looks like one, he’s built like one and goes like one.”

Ryan also had success at the trials with fillies Flying Achilles and Who Are They both winning their heats.

In the awesome scheme of things you get an A+ for effort and hard work. Exactly where you misplaced me ended up being in all the details. As people say, details make or break the argument.. And that couldn’t be much more correct right here. Having said that, permit me say to you precisely what did do the job. Your writing is certainly very persuasive which is possibly the reason why I am taking the effort in order to comment. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. Secondly, even though I can easily see a leaps in reason you come up with, I am not necessarily certain of exactly how you appear to connect the ideas that produce the actual final result. For now I shall yield to your issue but trust in the near future you actually connect your dots better.
