Dear Demi Headlines Crown Oaks First Acceptances

Dear Demi is one of 21 horses that still remain in the running for a spot in the $1 million Crown Oaks at Flemington on November 8. The three-year-old was included in the first acceptances for the race, which were taken earlier today.

Dear Demi will be out to claim her first Group 1 win in the Crown Oaks after placing second on two occasions. The most recent of these was last start, where the Dehere filly finished behind Commanding Jewel in the Thousand Guineasat Caulfield.

Dear Demi already has the Group 2 Furious Stakes to her name this spring, however, she is looking to go one better when the Crown Oaks is run on the third day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival next month.

Trained by Clarry Conners at Warwick Farm, Dear Demi has not finished outside the top four in any of her five race starts this spring racing carnival.

The talented galloper currently has ballot number one in the Oaks order of entry and is guaranteed a run in the final field should she accept.

Real Stolle is another of the fillies that feature in the Crown Oaks first acceptances.

The Elusive Quality filly is yet to win a race start this spring, with her most recent run resulting in a third placing in the $100,000 Snowhite Maintenance Plate at Caulfield on October 20.

Real Stolle’s only career victory came in the Group 3 Maribyrnong Plate in Melbourne last November as a two-year-old.

The John Thompson-trained filly will be looking to add to that win, along with her current prize earning of $130,000, in the Crown Oaks.

Whilst Dear Demi and Real Stolle have the luxury of knowing they will be included in the final field, horses such as Ten Black, Sunset Magic and Gondokoro are still jockeying for a spot in the 16 horse final field.
