The nine-year-old finished seventh in Saturday’s Doomben Cup and follows Group 1-winning mares Ortenisa and Secret Admirer out the door after the pair were retired on Saturday.

The Mujahid gelding began his career with Bob Thomsen in 2006 and had his first start for Waller in March 2008.

Danleigh quickly became a favourite in the Waller yard, winning four Group 1s for the leading Sydney trainer.

In 2009 he took out the All Aged Stakes and Manikato Stakes before winning the 2010 George Ryder Stakes and the 2011 Chipping Norton Stakes.

Danleigh earned the reputation as a tough performer and recorded 10 wins and 19 minor placings from 53 starts, collecting more than $2.5 million in prizemoney.
