Currently perched 20th in the order of entry, Fast ‘N’ Rocking will have to rely on at least four more highly-rated runners choose not to accept into the 2015 Stradbroke Handicap, which has a field limit of 16 horses this year.

Having completed a strong barrier trial at Randwick on Monday morning, Dabernig confirmed the son of Fastnet Rock is fit and ready to go and is likely to contest the Listed Hinkler Handicap (1200m) on the same Doomben card should he not make the 2015 Stradbroke Handicap final field.

“He’s in excellent order,” Dabernig  told Racing Ahead.

“We gave him a trial just to keep him ticking over and he trialled well.

“He’s down the order of entry but the plan is to run him and if he wasn’t to get in there is a listed 1200m he might run in.”

Posting four wins and a further six minors over his 28 career starts so far, Fast ‘N’ Rocking performed to a typically high standard for Dabernig and co-trainer David Hayes over a five start spring preparation, highlighted by wins in the Alannah Hill Plate (1100m), Triforce Handicap (1200m) and Group 3 Kevin Heffernan Stakes (1300m).

Returning this time for consecutive third place finishes in the Listed Abell Stakes (1200m) and Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m), Fast ‘N’ Rocking continued to impressive in running fourth in the Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m) before a luckless run for sixth in the Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m).

Placing fourth behind the likes of Our Boy Malachi and Craftiness in the Group 3 Hall Mark Stakes (1200m), the gelding out of For The Good Times placed fifth in the Group 3 BRC Sprint (1350m) at Doomben most recently.

Ladbrokes Australia is currently offering Fast ‘N’ Rocking at 2015 Stradbroke Handicap odds of $34 for success.
