Trainer James Cummings has been happy with the progress of rising three-year-olds Hallowed Crown and Sultry Feeling and he is confident that the duo have the talent to contest races like the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival.

Hallowed Crown and Sultry Feeling both showed plenty of talent in their maiden racing campaigns during the 2014 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival and Cummings told Racing Ahead that he is not getting ahead of himself, but believes that both horses have the ability to compete at the highest level of racing during their spring preparations.
“They are both doing really well and they are both going to trial on Friday,” Cummings said.
“They are just kicking off strongly and they will campaign in Sydney before possibly venturing to Melbourne.
“We will wait and see how they measure up and what some of the exciting off-season two-year-olds will turn into that they will have to come up against and well as the horses from the autumn that they were already competing against.
“They are both a bit bigger and they have the necessary seasoning to be competing in those Carnival races.
“Hopefully they have just improved that bit, but we will certainly know a bit more in four to six weeks.”
Hallowed Crown made his racing debut with an impressive win in the Early Quaddie Plate (1150m) at Randwick on March 26 before stamping himself as a colt to watch with a strong victory in the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) at Royal Randwick on April 12.
Cummings opted to send the son of Street Sense to the spelling paddock after his Kindergarten Stakes victory and the Golden Rose Stakes at Rosehill Gardens on September 13 has always been the first spring target for the rising three-year-old.
Sultry Feeling did plenty of things wrong when she made her racing debut in the Big Sports Breakfast Plate (1100m) at Randwick on February 26 before scoring her maiden race win at Wyong on March 18.
The Encosta De Lago filly made her debut at Group level with a third place finish behind Bring Me The Maid in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 29 and was sent to the spelling paddock after finishing seventh in the Group 3 Royal Randwick Stakes (1200m) on April 19.
Hallowed Crown is currently available at odds of $34 in the 2014 Golden Rose Stakes betting market with Ladbrokes Australia, while Sultry Feeling is priced at a quote of $41.
