Dynastic Lady had not found winning form leading into the TAB Rewards Maiden Plate (1600m), but did he chances of success no harm whatsoever when jumping well and taking a good position from the outset on the heels of the race’s early leaders.

Experiencing a good run in transit, the Fastnet Rock filly was offered a clear racing line upon arriving at the final straight and immediately responded when asked for an extra effort by jockey Sam Clipperton; mustering a strong turn of foot to hit the line a nose ahead of Magicalease.

Trainer Gai Waterhouse has a big opinion of the rising three-year-old, and stable representative Neil Paine told AAP credited Dynastic Lady’s brave ability and revealed the 2016 Crown Oaks is likely to figure as a realistic Spring Carnival target.

“Didn’t she show fight over the last furlong? She just kept giving and giving,” Paine said.

“Gai thinks she’s an Oaks filly later on this year.

“Gai’s had a bit of time for her and just each run she’s strengthened up and got better and better.

“I don’t know where Gai will head now, but she’ll keep improving and hopefully step up to 2000 to 2400 metres when it’s time.”

Dynastic Lady trialled well in the lead-up to her competitive debut; beating home classy field in two talent-rich Randwick groups, but clearly required a run when eighth in the Press Statement @ Vinery Maiden (1100m) first-up on June 22nd.

Led to the front by jockey Brenton Avdulla in the Robinhood Rangehoods 2.y.o Maiden (1400m) a fortnight later, the filly out of Dragon’s Tail produced what has become a typically-gutsy performance but faded in the late stages of the race to finish third.

The 2016 Crown Oaks is slated to run at Flemington on Thursday, November 3rd.
