Corey Brown rides the quadrella at Canterbury

Punters who love a jockey running hot should be circling the rides of Corey Brown at Rosehill tomorrow.

The 2009 Melbourne Cup winning hoop bounced back to his best form at Canterbury today when riding the quadrella on the seven race card.

Brown had six rides for the day and gave no indication early of his big finish with two unplaced rides in the first two races.

He then won on  favourites Green Beret ($4.80 fav) and Magic Cassius (2.60 fav) before My Cherie ($8) and Slow The Flow ($3.80).

The Corey Brown quadrella paid $665.50 on the home tote, $715 in Victoria and $498.70 on UNiTAB.

Brown was happy with the effort.

“It is pleasing as I have been going through a quiet time lately.

“My spring had been quiet and hopefully this will kick things off.”

Brown is probably being a bit harsh on himself with the quartet of wins taking him to equal leader on the Sydney premiership with 24 wins.

Glyn Schofield, Hugh Bowman and Kerrin McEvoy have also ridden 24 winners this season in Sydney.

Brown said he will study tomorrow’s Rosehill fields in depth tonight but nominated Yulalona as a good hope in the Christmas Cup.

The popular jockey has plenty of study to do as he has a full book of rides on the expected heavy track.

Brown won the 2009 Melbourne Cup aboard the now retired Shocking.
