The Group 1 $600,000 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill on March 11 is the 2017 Autumn Carnival target for dual Group 1 winner Global Glamour.

Co-trainer Gai Waterhouse confirmed that the three year old will be taking on the older mares in the Coolmore Classic after Global Glamour following an impressive gallop on the Randwick course proper on Tuesday morning.

“She looks set for a big campaign this Autumn with her main target being the Group 1 Coolmore Classic on the 11th of March,” Waterhouse said on her website.

“On Tuesday morning she cruised over 1200m on the course proper, running home over her final 200m in 11.4 seconds.”

Global Glamour had a short break after running second to Flying Jess in the $2m Gold Coast Magic Millions 3yo Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast on January 14 and Waterhouse has reported that the Star Witness filly has settled in well back at Tulloch Lodge.

“Global Glamour has come through her Magic Millions campaign in great order and is continuing to impress everyone who rides her,” Waterhouse said.

Melbourne Cup winning jockey Kerrin McEvoy was on hand to partner Global Glamour in her Randwick gallop and told Waterhouse that he was very happy with her work.

“She got into a nice rhythm, quickened well and had a beautiful action,” McEvoy said.

Global Glamour hit the spotlight during the 2016 Spring Carnival with a win in the Group 1 $500,000 Sydney Airport Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on October 1 followed a week later with a win in the  Group 1 $500,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield.

Global Glamour is the winner of three of her seven race starts and has collected just over $1 million in prizemoney.
