Contibuter headlines 2015 Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes nominations

Sydney’s Autumn Carnival weight for age star Contributer headlines the nominations for the Group 2 $250,000 Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

The John O’Shea trained English import is one of fourteen horses nominated for the weight for age feature with the Moonee Valley Racing Club extending entries until 10am on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.

Contributer was undefeated at three Autumn Carnival starts at weight for age with wins in the Group 2 $250,000 Optus Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Randwick, the Group 1 $500,000 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) at Warwick Farm and the Group 1 $500,000 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill on March 21.

Also among the nominations for the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes is the first up winner Mourinho who resumed for a narrow win in the Group 2 $200,000 Back To Caulfield P.B. Lawrence Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 15.

Mourinho finished slightly the stronger to nab front runner The Cleaner right on the post to win by a nose with the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig trained Dibayani a length away in third spot.

Big Memory was also making up good ground at the finished to fill fourth spot.

The Cleaner is among the nominations again this week and will be out to make amends along with Irish import Dibayani and Caulfield Cup hopeful Big Memory.

Sydney’s premier trained Chris Waller has nominated Hawkspur, I’m Posing and Preferment for the Moonee Valley weight for age feature with all three also entered in the Group 2 $250,000 Chelmsford Stakes (1600m) at Randwick.

Trainer Robert Hickmott has nominated two of Lloyd and Nick Williams owned import, The United States and Gallante.

Irish import The United States will be stepping up drastically in class after winning first up in a $90,000 Handicap over 1500m at Moonee Valley on August 22 while French import Gallante will be having is first run this campaign after making his Australian debut for a thirteenth in the Group 3 $150,000 Victoria Handicap (1400m) at Caulfield on April 4.

The rest of the Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes nominations are made up of Banca Mo (Scott Brunton), Ethiopia (Pat Carey), Kenjorwood (Peter Moody) and No Trick (Wayne Walters).
