Trainer Daniel Clarken is hoping that his stable star Miracles Of Life will get a chance to make a farewell racetrack appearance next week after being scratched from the Group 1 $400,000 Sportingbet Classic (1200m) at Morphettville today because of a bout of colic.

The Sportingbet Classic, formally known as the Robert Sangster Stakes, was to be Miracles Of Life’s swansong before being sent through the sale ring at the Magic Millions National Sales at the Gold Coast at the end of May.
But Clarken is hoping that her owners, Teeley Assets Ltd, will let him start the 2013 Blue Diamond Stakes winner next week in the Group 2 $250,000 Sportingbet Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville.
Or she could take her place in the Group 1 $500,000 The Tapestry Wines Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville the following week.
“I’d like to run her next week if the owners will let that happen but we’ll have a chat during the week,’’ Clarken told The Advertiser.
Clarken had to call the vets in after Mircales Of Life developed a mild bout of colic following her work on Thursday, subsequently ruling her out of today’s Group 1 for the fillies and mares.
“The treatment sorted the colic out pretty quickly but the drug will take seven days to clear her system,’’ Clarken said.
“She’s comfortable now.’’
Mircales Of Life held the racing spotlight when she arrived in Melbourne at last year’s Autumn Carnival to remain undefeated from four race starts when she took out the Group 1 $1m Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield with little known Adelaide apprentice Lauren Stojakovic.
But the Not A Single Doubt three year old filly has failed to visit the winner’s stall since with three seconds from her last six starts, her latest a second to Minaj in the Listed $80,000 Projection Graphics Redelva Stakes (1050m) against the three year olds at Morphettville on April 12.
Miracles Of Life was a $14 chance when he was withdrawn on Friday morning.
Last year’s winner Platelet and the Anthony Cummings trained filly Villa Verde share favouritism for the Sportingbet Classic at $4.40 with Ladbrokes.com.au just ahead of David Hayes’ Gregers at $4.60.
Shamal Wind is next in the betting at $6 with the Gai Waterhouse trained Driefontein at $8 and A Time For Julia from the Peter Moody stable at $9.
