Clarken searches for new rider for Miracles Of Life

Adelaide trainer Daniel Clarken will wait until after acceptance time today before securing a rider for his explosive filly Miracles Of Life for the Listed $120,000 ATA/Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) at Flemington on Saturday.

Clarken has to search for a replacement jockey because regular rider Lauren Stojakovic is yet to gain a clearance to ride after recovering from a broken wrist she suffered in a fall at Port Lincoln in early January.

“I still haven’t worked out who is going to ride her,” Clarken told Racing Network.

“We’ll be looking for a Melbourne-based rider not an Adelaide-based one.”

“We’ll have a look at who’s got a ride and who hasn’t and make a decision after that.

“We’ve got until midday to make that call.”

Miracles Of Life is having her first start since running three lengths seventh to Lion Of Belfort in the $250,000 Catanach’s Jewellers Blue Sapphire (1200m) at Caulfield on October 12.

Clarken has reported that his flying filly has completely recovered from some internal pulmonary haemorrhage which was detected after her Caulfield run and added that he was very happy with the way she has been working leading up to her comeback.

Miracles Of Life rounded off her return to the racetrack with a barrier trial win at Morphettville yesterday morning with Stojakovic in the saddle and Clarken said that she has pulled up in great order and is ready to return to Melbourne.

“She’s great, pulled up super – I couldn’t be happier with her,” Claken said.

“Lauren didn’t release the hand-brake at any stage and she won comfortably.”

“It was the Open trial and she just sat on her.”

“The way things look at the moment we’ll be there on Saturday.

“I could not be happier, she looks great in the coat. She has good condition on her, she has had a big grow.

“She looks absolutely sensational.”

Stojakovic has been aboard Miracles Of Life at all her seven starts including four wins with the highlight being the emphatic win in last year’s Group 1 $1m Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield.

Miracles Of Life will be facing up against some tough sprinters in the Bob Hoysted Handicap including Pago Rock from the David Hayes stable, African Pulse from the Mike Moroney camp, short course specialist Canali and the Peter Moody trained Brilliant Bisc.
