Clarken revises comeback plans for Miracles Of Life

Recent heavy rain in South Australia has forced trainer Daniel Clarken to revise comeback plans for his Blue Diamond winner Miracles Of Life.

Miracles Of Life gained a place in Australian racing history with a stunning win in the Group 1 $1m Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield in February and the flying filly is nearing a return for the Spring.

But Clarken had to recommend a change of direction owing to the wet weather Adelaide has been receiving and a start in Saturday’s Listed $80,000 Lightning Stakes (1050m) at Morphettville had to aborted.

With the cancellation of trials and the lack of good surfaces to gallop on, Clarken has been behind the eight ball to get his stable star fit enough for her return to the race track for the Spring.

Clarken is now looking to take on the fillies in the Group 3 $135,000 Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 17 as her likely comeback date with a decision to be made in the coming week.

“We’ve had that much rain over here we haven’t been able to get on a decent track for a gallop or anything like that,” Clarken said.

“The rain has been crazy. We’ve had trials cancelled, it’s made it a bit difficult/

“I’ll probably make a decision this week whether we go the Quezette first up or which way we go.”

Miracles Of Life made headlines in the Autumn remaining undefeated from four starts with little known Adelaide jockey Lauren Stojakovic capturing the hearts of all racegoers with her cool ride to take the Blue Diamond.

Clarken is likely to stable Miracles Of Life in Melbourne in the Spring and not travel back and forward from Adelaide as was the case when the Not A Single Doubt filly returned to her home base in between winning the Listed $120,000 Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Preview for Fillies (1000m) at Caulfield on January 26 and the Blue Diamond Stakes.

Miracles Of Life has acquired over $700,000 in prizemoney for her owners Teeley Assets Ltd from her four wins with the majority coming from her Blue Diamond Stakes win.
