Catkins Set To Start Tattersall’s Tiara Favourite

Catkins is currently available at 2015 Tattersall’s Tiara odds of $4.40, but is set to start the Group 1 event at the Gold Coast tomorrow as favourite.

Najoom is currently on top of Tattersall’s Tiara betting markets at a quote of $3.90, but as the second emergency she looks increasingly unlikely to receive a start in the race and her removal from the field is set to change the betting market substantially.

Catkins returned to racing with a disappointing second behind Hazard as a short-priced favourite in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on June 6, but punters are confident that she can return to career best form and finally record a win at Group 1 level after previously being placed in the 2013 Myer Classic (1600m), 2014 Coolmore Classic (1500m), 2014 Myer Classic, 2015 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) and 2015 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) .

Stradbroke Handicap winner Srikandi is currently on the second line of Tattersall’s Tiara betting markets at a quote of $4.60 and she is another filly that is likely to be involved in the battle for favouritism tomorrow.

Srikandi stamped herself as the Tattersall’s Tiara favourite when she broke through for a maiden win at Group 1 level in the Stradbroke Handicap at Doomben on June 6, but her odds for the race lengthened significantly after she was allocated the outside gate.

Avoid Lightning has remained solid at 2015 Tattersall’s Tiara odds of $7 and she is another mare that has the opportunity to record a maiden win at the highest level of racing.

The Blevic mare returned to racing with a gallant second behind Wouldn’t It Be Nice in the Listed June Stakes (1100m) at Royal Randwick on June 6 and she will be benefitted by the wet Gold Coast track.

The only other horse that is available at single figure 2015 Tattersall’s Tiara odds is Robert Smerdon-trained Lumosty, who has been backed from $8 into $7.50.

Lumosty was well-backed in the lead-up to the Stradbroke Handicap after she recorded most impressive victories at Flemington on May 9 and May 23, but she never looked comfortable in the run and could finish no better than tenth.

There has been a sprinkling of support in the 2015 Tattersall’s Tiara betting market for Diademe ($81 into $51), Estonian Princess ($31 into $26), Rose Of Choice ($41 into $31), Peron ($19 into $17) and Tarloshan ($41 into $31), while Bound For Earth ($34 out to $41), Dublin Lass ($18 out to $19) and Jazz Song ($34 out to $51) have all been on the drift.
