Catchy is one of twelve Lindsay Park trained fillies that make up the ninety-one first acceptances for the half a million dollar feature for the three year old girls.

Also among the David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig’s Lindsay Park Team still alive for the Thousand Guineas are the well performed Tulip, Formality and Madeenaty.

Catchy, Formality and Tulip are also among the first acceptances for the Group 1 $2m Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on the same day.

Catchy was the star two year old during the 2017 Melbourne Autumn Carnival and was undefeated in three race starts before winning the Group 1 $1.5m Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 25.

The Fastnet Rock filly has had one run back from a spell for a first up second to Crown Witness in the Group 3 $150,000 Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 19 and is nominated for the Group 2 $200,000 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Saturday.

Formality finished a game third to Catchy in the Blue Diamond Stakes and is unbeaten from two runs back for the Spring with a win in the Group 2 $200,000 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) on August 19 followed by a win in the Group 2 $200,000 Furious Stakes (1200m) two weeks later, both at Randwick.

Tulip was also one of the star two year olds during the Autumn and claimed third place behind She Will Reign and Frolic in the Group 1 $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill.

The Pierro filly has had one run back from a spell for a nose second to Thousand Guineas hopeful Roomooz in a 1200m three year old Fillies Plate at The Valley on August 26 and along with her stablemate Formality is nominated for the Group 2 $200,000 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Anthony Freedman’s undefeated filly Shoals is also prominent in the first acceptances for the Thousand Guineas and kept her winning record intact with a first up victory in the Listed $120,000 Mitchelton Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) at The Valley on September 9.

The Helmet filly Limestone heads up Darren Weir’s seven Thousand Guineas first acceptances while Sydney’s leading trainer Chris Waller has five fillies remaining in contention.

Early betting at Ladbrokes.com.au for the 2017 Thousand Guineas has Catchy and Shoals sharing the top position at $8 just ahead of the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra trained Booker at $9.

The lightly raced Booker was having her third race start and her first for the Spring when second to the highly rated Merchant Navy in the Group 3 $150,000 H.D.F McNeil Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on September 2.
