Catchy and Limestone among the fillies Blue Diamond Prelude nominations

Brilliant fillies Catchy and Limestone are among the sixteen nominations for the Group 2 $200,000 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Prelude (F) (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

A winning performance by The Lindsay Park trained Catchy or Limestone from the powerful Darren Weir stable can enhance their spots at the top of the market order at Ladbrokes.com.au for the Group 1 $1.5m Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 25.

Catchy and Limestone have previously clashed on one occasion with the Lindsay Park trained filly taking the honours with a win in a 1000m 2yo Plate at Moonee Valley on December 9 with Limestone filling third position.

Catchy has raced one more time for a win in an 1100m 2yo Plate at January 7 while Limestone has visited the winner’s stall at her next two starts with a win over 1000m down the Flemington straight in a 2yo Plate on January 1 followed by a win in the Group 3 $150,000 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies) (1000m) at Caulfield on January 26.

Limestone is yet to be included in the nominations for the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes and connections will have to fork out a $55,000 late entry fee if they want the Helmet filly to line up in the Group 1 for the two year olds.

The Lindsay Park Team of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig have also nominated Pierro filly Tulip who finished second to Limestone in the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies).

Trainer John O’Shea has nominated Gimcrack Stakes winner Jorda while Caulfield trainer Mick Price has nominated the unraced fillies Miss Admiration and Miss Gai.

Tony McEvoy’s filly Roomooz heads to the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Prelude for the fillies with one win from one start, a 1000m 2yo Plate at Morphettville Parks on January 7.

Cranbourne trainer Robbie Griffiths has four fillies entered for Saturday, Cherief’s Choice, Fabrication, Something Violet and Zarpoya.
