Capitalist started the Wyong Magic Millions Classic as a dominant favourite following his victory in the Breeders Plate as well as an outstanding barrier trial and jockey Blake Shinn made sure that the talented colt was never in trouble.

Shinn elected to settle Capitalist just behind the speed in the early stages of the race and he got him off the rail as quickly as possible before the son of Written Tycoon cantered up to his rivals and ran away to record a dominant victory without really being asked for an effort.

Trainer Peter Snowden was always confident that Capitalist would be tough to beat in the 2015 Wyong Magic Millions Classic, but he said that he was definitely relieved to see the juvenile get on track and get the job done.

“It is a good result,” Snowden said.

“He had the perfect run and did everything right.

“He probably just got a bit too keen on the corner and Blake did the right thing to just come around the other horses’ heels and balance up.

“It was just a really good piece of work.

“When you look at the tote board you might just think that it is a cakewalk, but it is not a cakewalk, they are still hard to win.

“He really showed what kind of talent he is and he is a real professional horse.

“He should get there (to the Magic Millions Classic) in pretty good order.”

Shinn was aboard Capitalist when he stamped himself as a horse to follow after his victory in a barrier trial at Royal Randwick on September 21 and it is tough to see the leading hoop getting off the two-year-old anytime soon.

Shinn said that he never wanted to give his rivals too much of a start in the Wyong Magic Millions Classic and he is already looking forward to partnering the undefeated juvenile in the 2016 Magic Millions Classic at the Gold Coast on January 9.

“When you are on a horse of this calibre you can be a victim of just being a bit complacent and maybe spotting them a bit too far, but we drew a gate and we were mindful to put him right in the frame,” Snowden said.

“He was able to dictate the race right from the start – they really slackened at the 700 and he grabbed the bit.

“He reacted a little bit indifferently, but he just oozes class and he was always in control.

“He won with a fair bit in hand, he got the job done and it is very exciting going to the Gold Coast.”

Capitalist is now available at 2016 Magic Millions Classic odds of $2 with Ladbrokes and he is a clear favourite from Zelady’s Night Out ($7), Niccolance ($9), Nikitas ($10), Detective ($15), Just Orm ($17), Slumber Party ($17) and Sundance ($17).
