Mahuta will carry the top weight of 58 kilograms in the Magic Millions Guineas and he will have the opportunity to record his fifth straight victory this weekend.

The Darren Weir-trained galloper made an unremarkable start to his racing career with defeats at Seymour and Echuca, but he stamped himself as a horse to follow with a dominant six lengths victory in the Winning Edge Presentations Maiden (1450m) at Kyneton on October 8 before he went on to record classy victories in the Listed Gothic Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on October 17, the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on October 31 and the Group 2 Sandown Guineas (1600m) at Sandown on November 14.

Another horse that is set to take winning form into the Magic Millions Guineas is Team Snowden-trained Flippant.

Flippant looked as though she would be a serious player during the 2015 Spring Racing Carnival when she took out both the Listed Woodlands Stakes (1100m) and Listed Lancaster Stakes (1200m) during her winter campaign, but she failed to beat home a horse in the Listed Brian Crowley Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on October 17.

She was found to have suffered from cardiac arrhythmia after the race and she returned to her best form with an impressive victory in the Wyong Magic Millions Stakes (1200m) on December 17.

The Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate (1300m) is always one of the key lead-up races to the Magic Millions Guineas and the 2016 edition of the race is set to be no exception.

Madotti bounced backed from her third place finish in the Listed Mode Plate (1200m) at Doomben on November 28 to take out the Vo Rogue Plate and she is set to take on the likes of Most Important, Egyptian Symbol, In His Stride, Single Gaze, Dram Of Red and Star Of Night once again.

One of the most interesting horses in the 2016 Magic Millions Guineas field is Toby Edmonds-trained Sagaronne, who has not been seen at the races since she finished ninth behind Jameka in the Group 2 The Vase (2040m) at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate Day.

Sagaronne finished second behind Press Statement in the Group 1 J.J. Atkins (1600m) during the 2015 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival and she was set for the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m), but she was sent to the spelling paddock early after failing to reproduce her best form during the spring.

The 2016 Magic Millions Guineas field is rounded out by Real Good, I’m Belucci, Sir Bacchus, Typing, Flamboyant Lass and Atalanta Miss, while We’re Sure, Hesitation, Shotacross The Bow, Saga Of The Storm and Perfect Dare are the five emergencies.
