Callow Back After Dominant Overseas Stint

Veteran jockey Noel Callow is back on Australian soil after an overseas stint of a slightly unique nature.

While we’re well versed in our riders going to the likes of Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and the UK, Callow headed to the sub-continent.

India is a growing force in the world of thoroughbred racing and a mountain of money is on offer if it continues to develop as expected.

It was a good trip for Callow who amassed 11 winners incredibly from just 22 starts.

His best meet saw him score four winners from four rides on a single day.

On the way home he also tried his luck in Malaysia where the results were just as impressive.

Callow notched up five winning rides at Kuala Lumpur, most notably in the $1 Million Piala Emas Sultan Selangor.

That win came aboard the Steven Burridge trained Risky Business, the same horse Callow won the Yang Di Pertua Negeri Gold Cup on last year.

He enjoyed the trip so much that his manager has indicated that he could be back in Asia riding again in under a month.
