The Team Hawkes trained Bugatty gets his chance to enhance his Blue Diamond Stakes hopes when he steps out in the Group 3 $135,000 Mal Seccull Chairman’s Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Bugatty has a Moonee Valley second and a Flemington win to his credit from two races starts and gets a good chance to add another win beside his name.
Top Melbourne jockey Glen Boss will be aboard Bugatty again after scoring on him over the 1000m down the Flemington straight last start and is certain to give a perfect ride barrier 2.
While Boss says that Bugatty is a ready made two year old, the three times Melbourne Cup winning jockey rates stable mate Nostradamus ahead of the Dreamscape colt.
Boss rode Nostradamus to his debut win over 1100m at Flemington on January 18 and was very impressed with the colt’s two and a quarter lengths victory, but Bugatty gets his chance to impress Boss on Saturday.
“He’s a better horse, no doubt,” Boss said of Nostradamus.
“But Bugatty is a ready-made two-year-old,” he added.
Bugatty’s main opposiotn at Caulfield on Saturday looks to be Bendigo trained Jarklin with Chris Symons to ride, who ran second to Nostradamus and the David Hayes trained Zululand with Stephen Baster to ride again and will jump from the inside gate.
Hayes has put the blinkers on Zululand after the Fastnet Rock colt finished second to the Mick Price trainer Nordic Empire over 1000m at Caulfield on November 30.
And Sebring colt Coram from the John Sadler stable with Craig Williams to ride could be an improver coming off a break after finishing one and three quarter lengths seventh in the $250,000 Inglis Banner (1000m) at Moonee Valley on October 26 at his only race start.
Bugatty is currently marked as a $31 chance in the Group 1 $1m Sportingbet Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 22 while Nostadamus is on the third line of betting at $9 behind $3 favourite Rubick and Earthquake at $4.
