Damian Browne couldn’t be happier about his $1 million Magic Millions Guineas (1400m) prospects with Tales Of Fashion this afternoon.

The hoop knows first-hand how hard the three-year-old filly can be to beat after chasing her down in the Listed Mode Stakes (1200m) with Savoureux on December 6 to win by just a nose in the final stages.

He will have his first ride aboard Tales Of Fashion in the 2015 Magic Millions Guineas as the pair jump from barrier five.

“Tales of Fashion had to do a lot of early work and I only just got her down. It was a great run by Tales of Fashion that day and I think she is a real chance in the Guineas,” Browne told Sky Racing.

“She seems to have drawn the ideal alley and we should be handy. She also appears to handle soft tracks.”

Tales Of Fashion’s trainer Trevor Bailey is also confident of the filly’s chances on Saturday despite her recent streak of bad luck.

The lightly-raced filly has placed in four of her seven career starts, which includes a win in the Listed Lancaster Stakes (1200m) in May last year. She finished outside the placings for the first time in the Listed Hampden Stakes (1200m) at Eagle Farm on June 7 before being spelled for six months.

She was unlucky to lose the Mode Plate after doing a lot of early work and also missed out on a placing in the Group 3 Vo Rogue Plate (1300m) on the Gold Coast last time out after being inconvenienced during the concluding stages.

“Rarely has one horse had so much bad luck. Last start was just a continuation of it,” the trainer said.

Tales Of Fashion is the market mover in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas betting at Ladbrokes.com.au after seeing a fair share of support from punters. The filly’s price has shortened from $26 to $14 but she remains a lucrative price just outside the single figure odds.
