Jockeys Corey Brown and Peter Robl will be fit to ride on Saturday after both sustained minor injuries at Gosford today.
The trouble began before the start of race two, the Sky Racing Maiden Plate (1200m) when Brown was involved in a barrier mishap in which Robl sustained a leg injury when Flash Albert played up in the barriers and had to be scratched from the event.
Robl brusied his right leg but said he should be fit at ride Diamond Earth in the Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) for Anthony Cummings at Caulfield on Saturday.
“I’ve just got a cork in my thigh, it’s a bit tender but it should be all right and I’ll definitely be all right for Caulfield on Saturday,” Robl said.
Brown bounced back in the next to win on Muzzle Blast for Darren Smith in Sky Racing World Maiden Handicap (1100m).
But Brown looked in trouble when he was tossed from Rain Alert near the home turn in the Off The Rails Maiden Handicap (1100m).
Racing NSW safety officer Maurice Logue reported that Brown had not sustained any serious injuries but was still stood down for the remaining of the meeting.
“Corey is conscious and sustained a cut lip,” Logue said.
Brown has nine rides on the eleven race Rosehill program on Saturday including the short priced favourite Rain Affair in the Group 2 $200,000 TAB Sportsbet Expressway Stakes (1200m).
