One time Thousand Guineas favourite Bring Me The Maid’s Spring Carnival plans are up in the air after the Peter Moody trained filly flopped in the Group 2 $200,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield on Sunday.

Bring Me The Maid has slipped down the market order for the Group 1 $500,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on October 11 and is now a $6.50 chance with Ladbrokes.com.au after heading the betting at $4.20 last week.
Moody said that he would monitor the Sebring filly over the next twenty-four to seventy-two hours before making a decision if she is to continue on with a Spring campaign or go to the paddock.
“She seems okay at the moment, but we haven’t had a chance to have a good look just yet,” Moody told Racing Network.
Bring Me The Maid put in the worst run of her seven start career when she failed to make any impression when a lacklustre three and three-quarter lengths seventh to Afleet Esprit in the Thousand Guineas Prelude after being sent out the $2.50 favourite.
Even though she received a bump at the start, Bring Me The Maid failed to make up any ground over the concluding stages with jockey Luke Nolen struggling to find any excuses.
Nolen was reluctant to blame the hard racing surface and a post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
“I don’t know. Hopefully a vet can reveal a little bit more. She just didn’t zip on that track but I don’t think it was down to the track. She’s either come to the end of it or I’m not sure,” Nolen said after the race on Sunday.
Bring Me The Maid was also sent out the favourite for the Group 1 $1m De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill at her previous start when eighth to Hallowed Crown, but she had plenty of excuses that day when Nolen got caught up behind a wall of horses and was unable to secure a clear run in the straight.
Adelaide filly Go Indy Go has shot to the head of the market order for the Thousand Guineas at $4 following her third in the Thousand Guineas Prelude behind Afleet Espirt who is now on the second line of betting at $6 along with Bring Me The Maid’s stablemate Thinking Of You.
Go Indy Go won the Group 1 $400,000 Moet & Chandon Champagne Stakes (1600m) at Randwick during the Sydney Autumn Carnival and the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas trained filly is ready to peak stepping up to the 1600m at Caulfield in a fortnight.
