Bring Me The Maid was one of the most consistent fillies during the 2014 Autumn Racing Carnival and she returned to racing with a comfortable victory in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on August 23.
The daughter of Sebring was well-backed to become only the second filly to win the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m), but she was blocked for a run in the straight and was never able to get into the race.
Bring Me The Maid will now run in the Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday before she returns to Group 1 level for the Thousand Guineas at the same venue on October 11.
The Peter Moody-trained filly finished third behind Mossfun and Earthquake in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) in April, but she will face neither in the Thousand Guineas after they both were not included in the second acceptances.
Mossfun was never slated to run in the Thousand Guineas, but the race was on the agenda for Earthquake before she produced disappointing performances in both the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on September 6 and the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) at the same venue on September 20.
Godolphin elected not to include in the Thousand Guineas second acceptances and she is set to be freshened up for a tilt at the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on November 1.
Winx defeated Earthquake in impressive fashion to take out the Furious Stakes and she has been included in the Thousand Guineas nominations.
The Street Cry filly suffered her maiden defeat at the hands of First Seal in the Tea Rose Stakes, but she is still on track to contest both the Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m) at Royal Randwick on October 4 and the Thousand Guineas.
The Lindsay Park stable has been in excellent form since David Hayes entered into a partnership with Tom Dabernig at the start of the race season and they have Afleet Esprit, Lashkaal, Shacarde, Sound Advice, Tawteen and Tender in the 2014 Thousand Guineas second acceptances while Team Hawkes are a chance of being represented by Dhahad, Lady Sharapova, Masstricht and Nakataan.
Champagne Stakes winner Go Indy Go, Shea Eden-trained Novel Dancer, last start winner Thinking Of You and Queensland filly Traveston Girl have also been included in the Thousand Guineas second acceptances.
